WORKSHOP

If you don't know,
ask

We say that the world stands on the shoulders of the young. It's time to actually listen to them and support them.

About the workshop

The idea of the workshop dates back to 2015 when Dejan Sotirov (Mavrični Bojevniki) noticed in his line of work that young people are increasingly struggling with challenges and often fail to seek help. When it comes to the youth, we shouldn't wait for them to seek help themselves; instead, we need to reach out to them. In 2017, Dejan Sotirov passed the leadership of the workshop to Jernej Picelj, but the workshop remains a part of the Rainbow Warriors' program. The workshop is based on anonymous questions asked by the participants. So far, over 11.000+ teenagers have rated the workshop with a 98% satisfaction rate.

"I liked the explanation of the questions and the introduction when the speaker opened up to us completelly and shared his life and mistakes. I felt heard and like finally an adult understood me, and we could ask a lot of things without being judged."

Many schools face challenges with teenagers who have visibly something going on, but they prefer to remain silent and not seek help. This (also) results in misunderstandings in the classroom, conflicts between classmates, and often disrespect for teachers.

"These workshops are urgently needed. They offer young people help in finding personal self-realization and hidden potentials, as well as improving their quality of life. It's an honor and pride to work with you."

Purpose of the workshop

The workshop is about not waiting for young people to seek support on their own, but being the mentors who, in partnership with the school, reach out to them first. This way, teenagers receive answers to challenging and important questions while growing up. Consequently, they better understand the challenges they face, contributing to preventing problems and conflicts that can arise with such questions.

"I've never had workshops like this, and I could see myself in many of the topics we discussed. We need more workshops like these."

Workshop Description

The workshop is an innovative version of "mobile field counseling", delivered to primary and secondary school students directly in the classroom in complete anonymity. It looks like a seemingly simple and relaxed classroom conversation between teenagers and our mentor, which takes two or three school periods, based on their questions.

''I like the presentation and the relationship that the speakers establish with the young people when they tell their personal story. The whole thing is less formal and feels relaxed. We got real real-life advice, directly and without any fluff. The workshop is focused on our problems. On top of that, the facilitator is professional but still entertaining. Now I know what to do if you have a problem with yourself. Thank you!''

The workshop usually runs for two school hours. During this time, all raised questions can be answered and there is enough time to develop an in-depth discussion. For a group of 30 students or more, we recommend three school hours.

Who the Workshop is for:

The workshop is intended for students 12 years of age and higher, as well as all high all school students.

Workshop Duration:

< 30 students = 2 hours
> 30 students = 3 hours

Workshop Delivery Method:

"This type of workshop should be a regular part of the curriculum, or at least we should have them more often. It was very informative, and we talked about everyday problems that really need to be discussed. These are tough topics, but better than uninformative subjects at school."

Parent

"Everything is very relaxed, and it feels like I'm talking to a friend."

Teenager

"Honest way of speaking. It opened up new perspectives, presented different angles, accelerated thinking. It clarified my mind."

Teenager

"I learned a lot of new things, and I felt comfortable discussing these topics with the mentor. He answered anonymous question cards excellently. Thank you for brightening my day ❤️!"

Teenager

"I started thinking more realistically. I saw that I'm not alone with this problem!"

Teenager

"He was not blabbing something he had learned. The feeling that everything said was sincere!"

Teenager

"I like your approach, which stands out in today's society. You show us that being different can lead to success. I especially liked the connection between information, thoughts, and emotions. And that everything depends on our thoughts. In my opinion, a different, better conversation than with a therapist and a greater impact!!"

Teenager

"I learned things I didn't understand before, the background of behavior. I liked the explanation of the questions and the introduction when the speaker opened up to us and shared his life and mistakes."
